On a trip to visit a friend in California in May of 2010, Carly met Mark. With an immediate understanding of the significance of this moment, Carly gave Mark the wrong phone number. Thank you to her savior and childhood friend, Jenny, she was called out immediately, a test call was made, her error was corrected, and an old school chaperoned date was set up on "an outside patio with a view."
During a trip to Whistler for New Years 2015, Mark took Carly to the top ( or at least what he remembered as the top ) of Whistler Mountain. Carly's suspicion was triggered when he asked if she wanted to stop riding to take a picture for instagram. Mark's suspicion was triggered when he realized his idea of the "top" was a cat track with skiers whizzing down at the end of the day. After some fumbling, a ring was revealed. A "yes" followed, and riding was over for the day as Carly called her family to tell them the exciting news. We celebrated with two extra spicy Caesers (Canada's version of the Bloody Mary) and wedge fries as the wedding diet began!
